My project is focused on the NFL domestic violence and child abuse problem. This topic is a problem because since the NFL players are famous and help fans' teams win they get away with it. A saying or a big word that goes with this is, "No More." There has even been commercials made advertised during NFL games saying this. One thing that can be done to stop this is, the NFL can make harsher penalties to scare players from doing this. For this project I was thinking of making a picture similar to a political cartoon. I want to out 3 NFL players in front of the press smiling and looking cocky while there are their wives or kids behind them. This is to display the NFL players' big profiles are bigger than their domestic violence or abuse issues.
1. What I learned from the most as an artist on this project was brainstorming on what to do.
2. If I could start again I would probably change the trophy design and add black to some parts. 3. I met most of my goals for this piece but it didn't look as professional I thought it would. 4. My biggest risk on this was making the cylinder connecting th base to the bowl at the top. It worked out great. The feedback I received on my trophy wasn't very good. Dusty said it didn't look like how it was in my sketch which is true. I tried my hardest to make it look how I wanted but I am not very good at putting what is in my head with my hands. I took off the handles and made the coils thicker. I thought if they were thick it would look better than many thin ones. The thing that was most successful about my project was the cylinder tube that connected the base to the bowl. It turned out great and im kind of excited about it.
To create my project I used the methods that Mrs. Singleton taught us. I slipped and scored my slabs to piece them together. With my use of media I tried to make my project look like I did it. I wanted people to know that it was my project if they saw it. I took risks on my project by picking a trophy. I figured a trophy would be harder to do than a mug or bowl. So far it has been hard and complex.
My inspiration behind this project was a trophy. It seemed like other people just wanted to make a cool jar but I already had a plan. I wanted to do a trophy because I'm into sports and it sounded like a unique idea. I didn't think anyone else would do it. My goal for this project is to make a good looking trophy that reaches the requirements.
